A share button has been added to Google’s Android Search app so users may share search results without ever visiting the page. In the Google Phone app beta, new capabilities like ‘Lookup’ for locating the owner of an unknown number are being tested.
Google has updated the Android Search app with a new share button. Users may now effortlessly share Google search results within the app and desktop UI thanks to the recently added feature.
In the past, sharing a page with multiple people required opening the page. Additionally, there was no way to long press a search result and copy its URL.
The feature was initially noticed by Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii.
To disclose the functionality, he made a post on X, the former name of Twitter.
Shareable URLs for search results are now possible with the Google app. At last! Before, you had to use a browser to search or access the page in order to share it. The post states, “There was no method to long press the search result and acquire its website.
He included a screenshot showing the button’s availability in the article as well. It’s unclear, though, when the feature was introduced.
Ways to distribute URLs for search results without opening the website
The three-dot button leads to the new Share button. Along with Save, Remove result, and Feedback, it is offered. Users will have the choice of sending the link to an app or sharing it directly with other users.
The desktop user interface also has the new Share button.
Google is developing new capabilities for its search engine in the interim. The capability to track down the owner of an unknown number is one such functionality. Google is testing a “Lookup” option in the Google Phone app’s beta version that will let users search Google Search for a number that has previously been entered for them, according to a post by X user AssembleDebug. There will be other options, such as “Block” and “History,” in addition to the new “Lookup” button.
